My dear husband Mike is ill right now. He has a few medical conditions including angina and a week ago he had the worst angina attack he's had in years. (Things have been quite stressful in our lives for the last six weeks or so and that may well have played a part.)
I had to drive him to hospital where he had ECGs and stuff like that and he's at home on medication and rest. Mike is like me - he hates rest and likes being busy. He's also not the world's best patient and I'm not Florence Nightingale either!
Anyway, I hope people will understand if I feel that I've got more important things going on in my life right now than worrying about how to patch over personality clashes between members.
Even though he's a non-believer, I've still been praying for him to get better. He's 51 years old and I've known a few people who've died in their 50s so I'm worried.
I hope members will understand if I spend most of my energy elsewhere for the time being.

Lin, all the very best to you at this worrying time.
As for praying: well, I don't think the object of a prayer needs to be a believer - it is, as they say, the thought that counts.
Here's hoping that Mike is better soon and gets the treatment he needs.

Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes. As I said, the worst was when he had the attack in a crowded shopping centre and I had to drive him straight to the hospital. Then I had to ring my sis to come and pick up the kids while I waited in hospital for various tests - ECGs and stuff like that.
He was let out later on that day and I drove him home. He's on medication and rest and I'm glad to say he's getting better. Unfortunately he's had heart problems since he was 10 years old so it's something we just have to live with. It's the first time he's had a serious angina attack for about five years so I'm grateful for that.
Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and good wishes.

All the best to you both, Lin, and high hopes for Mike's quick recovery. You know where your priorities lie. Hang in there and do what's best for your family.

I've only just seen this thread too. Lin how is Mike? I hope all is going well. I sympathise; with you as well as Mike. The emotional stress of serious illness in someone you love is horrible.

Thank you, Firedancer. I am fine now. Unfortunately I have a history of heart problems and it just happened to be a more serious angina attack than normal.
It is one of things that we just have to learn to live with, sadly.

Thank you, BA. I have never been as active on message boards as my wife but I am slowly beginning to get better at contributing to them.
