Check out this very interesting link which shows the growth of major restaurant chains worldwide since the 1970's. It is very well done and takes just a minute or two to view. I don't know about you but I absolutely hate it when visiting an important historical spot like Stanislaus Square in Nancy France or a historic boulevard in Paris and seeing a restaurant chain like McDonalds or Kentucky Fried Chicken there. I consider that visual pollution of the worst kind. I would never patronize one of them, and would prefer that they not be there. I don't know why people like Subway. They sell the most bland uninteresting sandwiches.

And Starbucks sell appalling coffee. And they do not pay their taxes.
We have not patronised them for many years

What stirs my biscuits is demolishing historical sites to build a fast food chain,,they call it Progress!!
