Yes but they may do a lot of other work, just not housework.
His wife would be aware of whether he had another job. There is a lot of work entailed in keeping a house clean and buying groceries for meals. You just seem to be going all day long. I was lucky if I got 4 hours sleep before the day's chores started all over again.
I think in the past a lot of women would have had their own mother to help out, I don't think that is the case so much these days. When we were young out grandmother came to live with us and that
would have helped my mother out a lot.

I guess so, even as a teen, I was always arranging things just so. When I was married I used to iron the bed sheets, but after the children came along I would hang them up on the outside clothes hoist then stretch the sheets so that there would be no wrinkles, which did away with having to iron them, but it still ate up my time.

It is the males who decide that a woman is not safe on her own for they are the ones who are responsible for her lack of safety.
It only take a few bad one to make it unsafe though, it is not all men, just a small minority.
But the culture in India is very different to the UK and Western countries, also it is a poor county with poor law enforcement.
If men grow up knowing that women are not supposed to go out alone, they will react to that by trying to teach the woman a lesson for being out alone. They reckoned she deserved to be sexually molested if she disobeyed the normal rules of behaviour.

That still applies today here in Australia. The snag is that my mother was back in Scotland.

It IS tough, but some women suffer more than others and are in labour for much longer than what is considered reasonable. Usually if that is the case, they will be given a Cesarean Section, which is an operation on the womb and removing the baby that way, so that would be pretty horrendous. I guess in the past some women would have died in child birth so they would not have passed on genes that make it difficult to give birth.
It may be in future women may not be able to give birth naturally if they keep having Cesareans .
There was a time when many women died in childbirth because the doctors didn't know the danger of germs. They delivered one baby after another without washing their hands. Not like it is today when there are antibacteria sprays around everywhere, even for people entering the hospital and ofcourse the doctors scrub up before each delivery.

Who would willingly go through all the different procedures that are necessary in order to change your gender? A person would have to be in agony of mind to want it in the first place.
I think it is more a mental health problem, you should not be mutilating your body like that, not if you are sane anyway, you are never gonna truly change sex, so why bother?
I was reading about Frank Maloney (now Kellie) the boxing promoter recently.
Even after changing sex issues remain so I don't think it is a real solution. More on the link.
When men change their sex they are supposed to take the hormones that will keep them looking like women. Maybe Frank didn't look womanly enough and his friends told him. He shouldn't have allowed what they had to say, upset him so that he tried to commit suicide. A person has to believe in themselves without question.

Their outward appearance can be changed and that is the crux of the matter. It is important for transgenders to be accepted as the gender that they want to be. That is the reason that they have these operations. Yea but often they still will not be truly accepted so it can be very difficult for them people who had known them as man for years will often have a hard time accepting them as a women, even their own family, so it is not an easy solution, they are trading one set of problem for another.
I also not quite a few who transition were formerly famous and then dropped out of the lime light and may do it to get themselves back in the public eye??
You do have a point in that people who have known them won't be able to accept them in their new role as a woman. I feel sorry for all transgender people.

Work on the car and garden and other heavier work household maintenance, building type work, it depends when I was young my mother did not work but my dad did so he did no house work really. Then we had a shop when my mother worked but he had his job and also did working and for the shop on top of that so he did not do much house work after that either. When they retired he did more house work but he also did a a lot of other stuff, building type work, putting up fences and household maintenance. In general it makes sense for the men to do the heavier and dirtier work.
You don't want to be making the dinner with your hands cover in engine oil. You are right ofcourse. It always depends on the set of circumstances at the time. Some men though will not do anything that is too feminine. My husband did vacuum at times, so I was glad of that as we had many rooms. It certainly helped.

I think a lot too might have been due to poverty, poor diet, malnutrition.
A healthy immune system should deal with most things.

Before sex changes were possible these folk must have managed?

He might have been better getting psychiatric help.

How can a psychiatrist help a person who feels that they were born with the wrong body? They would have to be brainwashed into believing what the psychiatrist was saying.

I read a long time ago that the reason that so many women died in childbirth was because they had no understanding of germs. Who was the person in France during the middle ages who discovered something that was beneficial to mankind. I think it was a woman and it affected our health. I wish I had a better memory.!!! PS: Was the person Louis Pasteur. I think his wife was involved too unless I'm thinking of some other inventor. What was he famous for?

The immune system has to do with helping a person recover from a disease of some kind. Sometimes a lengthy pain filled labour can be too much for a woman. I had to be sedated in order to allow me to rest, as I didn't think that I would last the distance. I felt that I was going to die.

Sure but a lot of folk have suffered and far more than them, ok so they were not the sex they wanted to be, big deal, you can't have everything you want, they
can still have a full and happy life the sex they are. It is not like they are seriously disabled. Their problems are psychological.
