"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." -- Abraham Lincoln "Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him had better take a much closer look at the American Indian." -- Henry Ford

Very good and IMO very true though Henry Ford is hardly someone to be admired on any level except that of commercial success.

No, you cant help the poor by destroying the rich. But the rich could sure as hell help the poor. I mean I work with homeless people, and if I was rich, the first thing I would do is help these people. If I had donald trumps kind of money, I would take people off the street and get them a place to call home. No excuse in having billions of dollars and not helping people. No excuse in it. He could change so many peoples fate.

You have that kind of power when you are rich. Why not save somebody. Take a homeless person and give them hope. Put them up in a motel or something, Pay their motel bill for a year or something You got billions of dollars. Give them some hope.
