Looks like a black version of a Raggety Ann doll. Does colour still matter? I think it adds to life, that is why we wear so many different coloured clothes. It would be dreadful without colour. I wouldn't like it.

You could be right !!! It has been quoted in the Bible that the lowest vibrational level of all that is evil will come upon us before what Jesus has promised, will take place. The prophecies will all come true, despite what people think.

he had it displayed in his window , he seemed to be intentionally provocative and wanted to cause offence. It is possible that he thought that only selling pale coloured dolls for white skinned people was being racist and decided to sell black dolls for the children who have black skin. Though you would think if that was the case, the dolls would just be black. And golliwogs are made of cloth material with stuffing.

I'm also a non white woman, and it would be easy for me to say I am not offended by this, as I am not black. But if I were black I would be offended by it and rightly so.
How many times in my life was I called the 'Wog' racial slur and then set upon by racists straight after. Many many times. I am talking about growing up as a kid in England.
The doll IS offensive and the way the man displayed it, it's pretty obvious to me he did it to cause offense.
Isn't nice to 'ignore it or rise above it' when you know you will never be or have ever been targeted by racists?

You will always be the person that you know yourself to be so why should you pay any attention to what anyone else thinks. It is of no consequence really.!!! If you should be beaten up as a result of the name calling, then ofcourse you report it, no one has the right to do that kind of thing. It amazes me the horrible way some people behave.

A person grows up with name calling, especially when you go to school. That seems to be a common occurrence by ignorant people, so most people have experienced it. As an adult you learn to deal with it by ignoring it.
