Many have trouble with believing in a loving God because of birth defects. Could it be that some birth defects are truly caused by the actions of the person suffering the birth defect through certain "pre birth free will actions" or perhaps the parents which is considered true in some cases. We can assume that Jesus' disciples had already spent plenty of time with Christ and were familiar with his teachings.
John 10» John 9New International Version (NIV) Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind 9 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“ 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. BTW This passage is often used as support for the belief in reincarnation which isn't my intention. I'm NOT saying that people who are born with birth defects are guilty in any judicial sense. God forgives our transgressions especially if they are done in innocent ignorance just as we forgive an animal that may have run in front of our car injuring itself and damaging the car. I don't believe a God of love would 'punish' people by giving them birth defects any more than I believe He gives earthquakes and tsunamis free will to kill.

I don't believe a God of love would 'punish' people by giving them birth defects any more than I believe He gives earthquakes and tsunamis free will to kill. It in the Bible that what a person is suffering may affect them even up to the 4th generation, so that could have to do with genes. I don't think there is such a thing as sin, only choices made in ignorance, which then becomes karma. The condition of our health ofcourse influences what we can do and how we behave, so it is definitely a test. We each prove the person that we are by the action that we take under certain circumstances. I DO believe in reincarnation and everything that goes along with that belief. The experiences that I have had are proof to me that reincarnation is a fact.!!!

To Mike Marshall, I have trusted the Intelligence that is known as the Supreme God since I was a child and I haven't been harmed in anyway in all that time, so surely I should be able to trust what I am being shown.
Satan's job is to keep people on this Earth plane so that he can control them. I however, can escape from this plane by Soul travel and being spiritually enlightened so that I am able to stay permanently on the spiritual planes.
