I notice that no one has responded to this thread.
A Kurdish man was viciously attacked by white thugs who shouted ethnic insults at him. He is extremely fortunate even to be alive.
My wife and I condemn ALL bigotry, prejudice, racism, intolerance and unprovoked assaults.
We do NOT suffer from the selective indignation of so many on the left or right.
But as lately too many posts appear to be little more than an exercise in selective indignation perhaps it might be worthwhile to point out that we are all humans and there is no excuse for this behaviour.

I suspect that I will be posting more frequently for the time being than my wife. At the moment things are difficult for her in terms of family illness and with our baby due to arrive in June I do not wish her to be exposed to unnecessary stress.

At the moment things are difficult for her in terms of family illness and with our baby due to arrive in June I do not wish her to be exposed to unnecessary stress. i'm glad that you are better, and hope that lin is okay. of course, the issue needs to be addressed. there is NO excuse for thugs harming anyone that said, however, the reality is that there is not enough condemnation of the thugs who have actually caused incidents such as this. the irrefutable reality is that, there is no such thing as one world. the world is made up of 195+ totally separate and distinct countries. only lunatics think there is anything good about trying to erase borders. those who wish to leave their country, and emigrate to another, legally, are obligated to conform to the customs and culture of the country that they emigrate to. they have NO right to expect ANY kind of concession from that country. the simple, yet irrefutable FACT is that it is those who have emigrated to a civilized society and tried to practice their barbaric customs, and think that they should be allowed some kind of dispensation, who are solely responsible for incidents such as the op
