Thanks, its kind of surreal. Didn't hurt much and you are home in two days. I've had colds that were worse. But, we caught a problem early so.

Thank goodness for the "wake up call", blc! That is a big issue in our family, and most pass away from Heart Attacks. I wish you well.

Thank goodness for the "wake up call", blc! That is a big issue in our family, and most pass away from Heart Attacks. I wish you well. This is the post I had made at my site: I spent New Year's Eve in the emergency room and New Year's Day in the hospital. I had a very very minor heart attack. So minor that I almost didn't even go to emergency. We were watching some tv and our Comcast went down so we had no phone, no internet and no tv. i figured it was a good time to fix lunch. Hubby went to the neighbors to see if they had tv etc because they use AT&T and he was curious if AT&T uses the same lines as comcast. They still had tv etc. Anyway, as I was putting lunch on the plates, I started not feeling well. A little bit of pressure in the center of my chest. I stopped and sat down to see if it would go away, but instead I started having pain in my left arm pit and then the whole left arm ached and some of the fingers started to tingle. So, at this point, I'm getting a little concerned but I have had a numb pinky for a while due to a pinched nerve and had aches in my arm before due to bad experiences with statins in the past and sometimes those pains return, so I was still trying to evaluate and decided to put stuff away and go lay down and see if that helped. About this time my husband returned and I called him into the other room and said I wasn't feeling well and told him what had happened. He didn't know if we should go to the er either or not and I kept trying to determine the sensations. The pains weren't going away but they weren't getting worse either. We decided that the worst that could happen was that er would send us home if they found nothing. After xrays, ct scan and lots of blood work, the blood work started showing a rise in a particular enzyme that indicates that the heart was under stress so I was loaded into an ambulance and admitted to the hospital. Lots more blood work and the enzyme continued to rise and the chest pain was just staying the same that evening and through the morning of the next day even though they kept increasing the nitroglycerin drip. I had an echocardiogram and then later a catherization was done when they got rid of the pain. The clogged artery was so small that a stent was too large so they did an angioplasty. Damage was very minimal and all the other arteries looked great and no other problems. Because they went into the artery of my right wrist I am not supposed to bend or lift with it for a few days. I have a board under the wrist to keep it straight and this makes typing a bit tedious, lol. I tried to use my phone while in the hospital on new year's day but it was awkward and my phone needed charging so I just gave up on that. On a scale of 1-10, my pain would alternate between 1-2. It was just uncomfortable but not excruciating, so the bottom line is if you experience something like that, and you aren't sure, just go to the er to be safe. The worse that can happen is they send you home and you gain some info from your visit there. They told me it was good that I went and that they don't call it the silent killer for nothing. It doesn't have to be extremely painful to cause damage or continue to cause damage. My cholesterol is only 170, so it goes to show you don't need high cholesterol to get a clogged artery. Sometimes its just hereditary.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news, blc.
Please be careful. I've known a few people who've had strokes and some get over it and some don't.
I'll pray for you!

Thanks Lin, but I think strokes are more serious, but I'm not sure. As I said it was very minor heart attack and I'm fine, back to doing everything that I did before.

I am so thankful you are alright.
