I feel he has potential. A lot depends on whether he's going to be his own man or whether he'll be too much held in check by the Republican establishment.
But I feel that a lot of his supporters may be disappointed and a lot of his opponents may find he's nowhere near as bad as they fear.

Trump prefers to lie about his past. He was rich and powerful enough to have come out publicly and opposed it. Plenty of people did that during Vietnam. Plenty of people in Britain did that during Iraq. Trump did NOT. He publicly BACKED the wars. Any fool can pretend they didn't agree about it. Why do you find it so hard to accept that Trump is every bit as much of a scumbag as Hillary Clinton? If I was American I'd probably (grudgingly and holding my nose) have slightly preferred to vote for him rather than her. But both of them disgust me. Neither of them is any kind of role model. Trump's conflict with the CIA and it's attempt to create a major conflict with Russia shows me that he has backbone and is standing up to the Globalist controled CIA and secret services that killed JFK. Hillary just served this warmongering system. You can criticise Trump for not going public with his opposition to the Iraq war back then, but now he rightly sees those wars as only enabling the Fundamentalist Sunnite Muslims to form ISIS and rule many territories in Iraq, Syria and Libya.
Hillary shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath with Trump. After conning Gaddaffi into giving up all WMD programs claiming it would bring peace she treacherously supported the war against him which only freed the Fundamentalist Muslims there to kill our ambassadors and brutalise the Black community, etc..

You're assuming that this vast 'globalist' conspiracy of yours not only exists but has a single agenda.
Frankly, the logical conclusion to a non-paranoid mind is that there are MANY groups who pursue conspiratorial agendas which are overwhelmingly DIFFERENT ones.
You know, I distrust all politicians (and it's no good pretending Trump isn't one; he was talking about running for President way back in the early 90s) and Trump has made a lot of 'promises' during his campaign most of which he's already backtracking on.
My attitude is that Hillary Clinton was a known evil while Trump is at the moment still an unknown one.
My guess is that he will disappoint his supporters but will also astonish his opponents by NOT fulfilling their paranoid fears about him.
I expect him to be yet another mediocre President who tinkers with the superstructure but leaves the important aspects of life alone.
