Hi Gibby
Thanks for being brave and trying my quiz.
I thought it was quite easy (mostly) and all I'll say at this stage is you've got most of the ones you answered right!

I hope my members are honest enough not to do that; whenever I've been in for online quizzes if I don't know the answer I just guess!

I think there are four questions at least that I'd expect our American members to get right!
I admit the Odd One Out is probably the hardest; you have to think outside the box.

What might be fun is to pick one of the questions and expand around it.

What might be fun is to pick one of the questions and expand around it. I'm intrigued; what did you have in mind? For example, King Harold. How he became the King and that even in his own mind (it was often said) that he doubted his own legitimacy since he (believed) that he violated an Oath to William taken over a Holy Relic. And the fact that the pope was supportive of William. How he had to collect the army and go North and fight the Vikings at Stamford Bridge, Win, and then turn and go South to fight William. Then the question, should he have turned right around and immediately come South to fight another battle (where he died). Or, should he have taken more time (a month?) and gather a larger, more refreshed army. Of course today we look back on all of this and because William won, we are heirs to a history which seems the right course of history, but, what if Harold had won? Due to William we have a history legally and socially that is a certain way, but if Harold had won would they have been very different? Just our legal system, would it have been significantly different? Would John Locke have done his writings? Would the following relationships with Spain and France been different? Would the conquest in the Americas turned out differently? Would literature still have made the change from being mostly warrior focused to bringing in the perspective of the woman? I’m not sure if this venue of Proboards is the one for this type of speculation, nor do I have confidence that there would be much interest. Just some thoughts.
