I wasn't bothered about not being appreciated, Scottish Lassie, that just goes with the job of running, or helping to run a forum. I was a moderator there until the SteveT problem first started, at Garry's insistence, but I resigned when I saw how things were developing. I had strongly advised him not to make anyone a moderator, including me, after a rogue moderator destroyed the old forum, but I noticed a while back that he had ignored that advice. Perhaps that explains the current state of his forum. I was looking at old posts on Jim's forum, but the posts in question were from around July 2014, so I suppose they've forgotten me by now. I don't really understand your second paragraph, unless you mean the UFO-UK Sightings page that now seems to be abandoned, and I don't remember ever being called a Legend. I'd like to see that, if it really referred to me. Hi InterestedBob, Being appreciated is certainly better than being stabbed in the back, that's for sure!!! It was directed to Old Bob and you had just finished completing something new, because you gave a link, that was supposed to make it easier for people to send in posts of sightings. On the left side there seemed to be at least six categorie written in blue and on the right were all the sightings with the areas of the country where they took place was mentioned. I was able to scroll the right side panel down, showing all the different posts and they were all written in the same way, only different areas where the sightings took place. Jim said that the sightings should come rolling in and you said that you hoped so. I know I saw 2013, but is it possible the sightings could go back as far as 2009? I don't remember exactly, but I was being shown old posts and it was definitely a new format. My memory isn't so good, so I might be mistaken about the dates. I'll see if I can get back to it.

Hi Interested Bob, did Jim have a different forum when all this happened? I was under the impression that you, Garry and Jim were members of the Ovni forum?

I think you may have seen an old reporting site I set up as part of the Ovni site, but later scrapped because it wasn't being used, Scottish Lassie. If I remember correctly only myself and Dell or Cankchase ever posted sightings on there, but certainly not Jim. That's the only thing I can think of, unless you mean this site, which I often posted on, but which has now been abandoned as far as I can tell. Garry, Jim and I were indeed all members of the Ovni forum, and I believe Jim did have his own forum at the time, but I think it was a kind of By Invitation Only membership, and he never publicised the address for it. I don't think I ever found it until you published the address somewhere a week or so ago. OVNI stands for 'Objet Volant Non-Identifié' in French, but as well as French, the same initials in Spanish, Portugese and Italian all translate as 'Unidentified Flying Object'. I think we have probably hijacked this thread much longer than we should have done, so if you want to continue this conversation, maybe Big Lin could move it to somewhere more suitable.

Hi Interested Bob, I'm positive that it was Jim who was giving you a pat on the back for all your good work, but I'm unable to check as I can't get back on again. SORRY!!!

No worries, Scottish Lassie, you could well be right. Was it a long time ago you saw it?

I was trying to get back on to OVNI and that's's what I saw. I just can't remember if it was 2009 or 2013, because I saw both dates.

That forum appears inactive. It is still active Womenonly, I managed to get through, I'll see if I can find the URL. They don't allow you to talk about what happens on any other forum. I decided not to join, they are perhaps too strict. I wanted to join so that I could keep conversing with Interested Bob, but as we would have been talking about OVNI it ended up as a no no!!!

Hi Interested Bob, I think you had the name Old Bob when I saw the remark that you were a legend the link that you have given is the one that I got through to where you are being thanked. That link took me to the old sightings, so maybe you will come accross it eventually.

It must have been 2013, then, Scottish Lassie. That was the time I set up the short-lived reporting site on Ovni. At the time, the UK-UFO site was so active nobody posted anywhere else. Now, sadly, that has apparently been abandoned by the owner, but at the moment all the old posts are still available, and despite my scepticism I still find them interesting to read. Despite what the hard line believers and disbelievers say, the people who are really open minded are the sceptics, because they are willing to consider eveything, with no built in hangups.

Hi Interested Bob, I always believe what I am being told, until such time I find it to be untrue It is hard for me to believe that anyone could be deliberately lying to me, but ofcourse with UFO's it is different, it could be a case of mistaken identity as you are so fond of pointing out.

I'm not the least bit fond of pointing it out, Scottish Lassie, in fact I resent having to do it so often. The problem is that very often people discussing UFOs are fond of ignoring or deliberately rejecting the possibility that they could be mistaken, and stating their beliefs as facts. That means that if I have reasonable grounds for believing they are wrong, I consider it necessary to remind them that they could be wrong. I don't think I have ever told anyone that they ARE wrong, although I may occasionally have done so. I usually explain what I think they may have seen, and why I think so, and suggest that they may have been mistaken. For example, if someone describes a UFO as a bright white light, at a particular height above the horizon, moving steadily across the sky from West to East, at the precise time that the International Space Station is known to have been visible from that location, at that precise height above the horizon, and they don't mention seeing two bright white lights moving in the same direction, it's fairly reasonable to assume that the UFO and the ISS were one and the same. That happened so regularly with the ISS that it was possible to predict exactly when a flurry of new sightings would be reported, simply by checking NASA's Spot The Station site.

Perhaps if people want to discuss UFOs they should do so on the proper thread.
We do have a thread for paranormal and anomalous phenomena and that's the proper place to talk about it.

Hi Interested Bob, you are right as regards the space station, but what do you say when someone reports a bright light travelling at an excessive speed. I don't think it really matters whether they are seeing the space station or something else. What is important is the fact that Alien craft exist and must come from somewhere. Have you heard of the Majestic 12? And if so. what do you have to say about it? I'm still getting the banned placard on the Ovni forum, I'm trying to find an Australian site, but no success as yet. They all seem to want people who are able to contribute in a constructive way, and I am unable to do that. Kronks gave me a few leads for sites in England but no doubt they will give me the runaround too. There doesn't seem to be any place for anyone who is just interested and wants to hear the latest news. I'm still on the outer as regards the friendship circle.

I am going to lock this thread. The proper place to post on this topic is in the Paranormal and UFO section of this forum.
