Getting bullied can scar someone for life, in a way that ...whenever you arent doing something or watching TV at least, so your mind is busy so you dont have to be aware of your own thoughts, you get plagued by the memories of it. And the effects - of having been runted, ostracized, left to suffer - create more unhappy memories as your life doesnt go how it should have. - so the effects of being bullied dont necessarily lessen over time, they can get worse and more, and you can end up thinking your life or staying in it is futile.
Bullies suck.
You want to create an adult who hates authority of any kind, and suffers problems from it? That's easy. Bully them as a child, instead of giving them support and coaching, protection - freedom and ability to become themselves. Just bully them in stead, get a thrill from IMPEDING them from doing anything, for no reason, and if you're a lucky enough bully to have your victim go unhelped...there ya go, success for a bully! Creating damaged human beings.
You know what my brother does for a living?
He's a prison guard.
He says it's "the best job he ever had".
He enjoys it so.
And he's proud of having developed some methods of 'control' himself, like buying a little notebook and standing around the corner from the cages the people are kept in, and write down things they said out of context - things you know were meant innocently, but that can be used against them out of context. And you get something on each of your prisoners, on each page of your little book, so THEN you can threaten them, and get them to lick your shoe (literally).
"Best job he ever had"
You know what psychology says of this?
He wasn't taught how to have control of developing and running his own life, so to have a sense of control he learned he could IMPEDE others by violently attacking them and threatening them, AND THIS IS THRILLING. And such a kid grows up and becomes a cop or a guard or some such job where he can get payed by society for the behavior he learned. And this is called "legitimizing the role".
Bullies suck.
Anyone who thinks harming another is thrilling is a piece of ***t in my book.
And dont think just because people arent acting morose and googling ways to die, that they've survived it ok. It's life long. The damage is. It doesnt go away.

Yes, I agree with what Hunny has said.
Sad story and just a while ago, a very pretty popular country singer also committed suicide too. Of course these are the famous that we hear about, many unknowns do the same, every day.
Bullies are the pits and often they are the ones who have been abused in some way themselves at some point in their lives and they in turn decide to do the same to someone else. All I say is that they must be weak individuals who have not dealt with whatever they went through and instead of getting over it and learning from it, they decide to pass it on and do the same to someone else that they obviously had done to them. How else would they know how to perfect their 'art'? And often they work in groups, because they don't have the guts to do much by themselves.
And sometimes they become criminals, same thing in the end. Who was it who said that it's a thin line between a politician and a career criminal was not far wrong. Some people grow up, with all the baggage of their childhoods still intact and then try and find a way to screw up other people's lives with the 'knowledge' they have acquired.

It's sad.........children can be very cruel......and often many kids are just are so worried about not joining the crowd or being the object of bullies that they will participate in the cruelty........
A lot of times these children are the objects of abuse at home.........or absentee parents that are just oblivious to their demon children........not sure how you combat this when it is those situations.......
Wish this woman could have found help.

The sad thing is......most of the people/children that bullied her are probably oblivious to the harm they caused and the end result.
