Hope it's OK to put this one here. It's definitely from the vaults, but live. I've never made up my mind whether I really like Ian Anderson, but I do like this song.

Did you ever like Marley?

yes - ever did and still do I'm almost sure somebody else had this out first. Went looking and came up with Patti LaBelle, but I think the singer was male. Oh well, this is prob. the definitive.

Oh sure - Johnny Nash - bingo! He was a good singer, sounded quite a bit like Sam Cooke. This is the kind of music our small town radio station (with a very independent minded programmer) played when I was growing up. I like this one even if the girls are a little shy of professional.
Anybody know who wrote this song?
This one, too, but it won't embed.

I like the line in the song (can't remember the title) where he sings: "You make me feel like a sweepstake winner" Somehow that sounds very romantic. It's this one, Maggie.

Hold Me Tight is a Beatles song from their 1963 album With the Beatles.
Meanwhile, they're a funny lot in Illinois....

Hold Me Tight is a Beatles song from their 1963 album With the Beatles. No. This is a totally different song than the Beatles' Hold Me Tight. If you listen to it, you'll see. Oddly enough, the link I posted is to another Johnny Nash song called, Rock Me Baby. I can't find who wrote it, either *and* The Beatles have a song named, Rock Me Baby, that has nothing to do with the one by JN (which is a better song, btw). To complicate things further, there is a B.B. King song - Rock Me Baby, probably the best known of the three but I still like the one by Nash. Listen to those 2 JN songs and you'll remember them. If, at any point, you learn who wrote them, please share. p.s. yeah - Zappa - brilliant but strange

I'm curious to know whether any of you know of this singer and her music. I'm adding a link to her wiki entry in case that might help. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dory_Previn

I've heard of her, but not much more than that. Andre is most famous for an appearance on the Morecambe and Wise show.
All aboard....
