I strongly oppose this death sentence! No one should get the death penalty for killing a pedophile sex abuser that assaulted them.

well, as most people here know I support the death penalty but this is clearly wrong.
I have served on a jury and even though it wasn't a murder case we still had to evaluate the evidence carefully and honestly and because the police had clearly tried to 'improve' on the evidence and fit the defendant up for other crimes we had to acquit him.
And I'm unusual and my attitude to crime, punishment and the law generally raises a lot of eyebrows on the more right-wing side of message boards.
I believe the law should be based on morality and my moral code tells me that this was a crime of honest anger against a sex abuser and that executing this person is morally wrong.
Yes, perhaps he should have restrained himself but anyone who KNOWS anything about victims of sexual abuse also knows how corrosive the effects upon the victim are and they last the rest of their life.
It can literally impair your judgement to the point of what I suppose amounts to diminished responsibility.
Twice in my life I nearly killed another person so I know how the red mist can overcome your mind and make you go a bit mad with anger.
So in my opinion this is a crime of passion and anger and NOT one that should be treated on the same basis as a cold-blooded murder.
But I know hardly anyone agrees with my unconventional views on crime and punishment.
