I heard the radio report on the audio link below! Donna Summer will always be remembered for her immortal disco music. www.npr.org/player/v2/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=152927638&m=152927629 www.npr.org/2012/05/17/152927638/one-last-dance-with-disco-queen-donna-summer QUOTE: One 'Last Dance' With Disco Queen Donna Summer
NEAL CONAN, HOST: And finally, earlier this afternoon, we learned of the death of Donna Summer. She was 63 years old and suffered from cancer. Summer sang some of the most memorable anthems of the disco era, from"Love to Love You Baby," to "Bad Girls." She had a top 40 hit every year from 1976 to 1984, including this song, which she once told NPR she'd perform till the very end. You can hear more about Summer's life later today on NPR. But for now, let's just listen to the queen of disco, Donna Summer. (SOUNDBITE OF MUSIC, "LAST DANCE") DONNA SUMMER: (Singing) Last dance, last chance for love. Yes, it's my last chance for romance tonight. I need you by me, beside me, to guide me, to hold me, to scold me, because when I'm bad, I'm so, so bad. So let's dance the last dance. Let's dance the last dance. Let's dance this last dance tonight. Last dance, last chance for love. Yes, it's my last chance for romance tonight. Oh, I need you, by me, beside me, to guide me, to hold me, to scold me because when I'm bad, I'm so, so bad. So let's dance the last dance. Let's dance the last dance. Let's dance the last dance tonight. CONAN: The late Donna Summer, "Last Dance." Tomorrow, it's TALK OF THE NATION: SCIENCE FRIDAY. Ira Flatow will be here. This is the TALK OF THE NATION, from NPR News. I'm Neal Conan, in Washington.
