What a way to prepare for a tough test series and a VERY daunting Ashes series!
Kevin Pietersen, our best batsman, has resigned as captain; Peter Moores, the coach, has resigned, and the inconsistent Andrew Strauss, who can't be relied on to score runs regularly and lacks the imagination to be a good captain, has taken over.
It's a good job that the West Indies are a team in decline but even so they're hard to beat in the Caribbean.
As for our Ashes chances, they've rapidly gone down the tube.
What a bunch of wallies!

Cricket puts me to sleep to be honest....a great cure for insomnia if I ever I saw one. Although I am from England - I fail to see the fascination of cricket.

Cricket puts me to sleep to be honest....a great cure for insomnia if I ever I saw one. Although I am from England - I fail to see the fascination of cricket. Only a complete philistine could say that. It is six months to the Ashes. Australia have enough problems of their own, like a popgun group of bowlers that couldn't take the skin off a rice pudding. That will continue to dog them come July. It isn't so much an attack as an embrace. England have dealt with their problem now. The guy who should have had the captaincy for the last tour of Australia now has the job and not before time. It has been an unseemly mess, but the right result has emerged. Go England - whip the Windies home and away, then its Strauss and England to waltz away with the urn - the smallest major trophy in sport.

Let's hope you're right, Jeez.
I'm not sure that our attack is that consistent; our batting is certainly not; and I just hope that the West Indies, who are not the most fearsome force in world cricket, will give us a good workout before we face the much sterner challenge of the Aussies.
