I'm a very relaxed board owner. I don't like lots of rules and I hate any kind of discipline.
Sometimes, though, it's necessary.
Let's lay it on the line,.
Personal attacks on other members are NEVER acceptable behaviour.
Disagreement with their opinions is fine.
Problems on other boards to which members belong should be dealt with on THAT board and NOT carried over to this one.
All rules here are basically common sense.
I don't expect people to agree (it would be boring if they did) but I DO expect them to avoid crossing the line.
Yes, we're all human and we all have tempers.
Yes, sometimes I or my staff have to edit, delete or move offending posts.
Yes, there are always going to be people who just can't stand each other and who have been personally hurtful to others.
All I ask is for people to come to me or my staff if they feel they've been badly treated.
We will listen to their complaints with an open mind and will not dismiss them out of hand or patronise them by claiming that we have more experience of message boards than they do. (I have seven years, Mike five and many of my staff much longer.)
We all know what's acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.
Please, everyone, try and keep it clean, OK?

I'd like to remind every member here about the rules of this board. Lately several members seem to have been going beyond what I think is acceptable behaviour.
Please read them carefully and follow them. I'm the most laid-back board owner I know but even I have sometimes been known to issue formal warnings, suspend members and in three cases even to ban them.
I hate doing that but please read and follow my very few rules.
Thank you.
