I think he's a bit worse than that, Mouse. On the whole, Gus is a windup merchant. Prem is a sick so-and-so who enjoys hurting people. //On the whole, Gus is a windup merchant.// Is it a crime? People are doing it to other members all the time. I do not mind being wound up. Do you just want to pay compliments to each other all day long. What is very bad is when members start to abuse, winding up is annoying, abuse is painful. gus

Dearest Sandra! I'm sorry the paramedics were so insensitive! The only thing i can say in their defense is that they are often the first people called to horrible accident scenes and see these tragedies up close! I think many paramedics do become desensitised after seeing such extreme cases up close..With the exception of yourself most people wouldn't witness or experience such a horrible event in a lifetime! Perhaps you had to also struggle with the danger of be´coming insensitive, which is one of the defense mechanisms against trauma and suffering! You seem to do a great job moving forward and i admire you greatly for this!

People might think I am respectable. ;D gus Gus, I belong to over 50 boards and nobody thinks that I'M respectable! Ask the likes of Exco on MCL who nicknames me 'the mad Romani woman.' These two quotes sum respectability up for me Lin //To be good, according to the vulgar standard of goodness, is obviously quite easy. It merely requires a certain amount of sordid terror, a certain lack of imaginative thought, and a certain low passion for middle-class RESPECTABILITY. Oscar Wilde 1856-1900, British Author,// //Now that I'm over sixty I'm veering toward RESPECTABILITY. Shelley Winters 1920-, American Actress // gus

I am very lucky to have everyone here to listen to me and offer me hope and advice. I am also very lucky to have a wonderful physio therapist in my life who treated my pneumonia for free. I have virtually zero energy still and I'm very pale and tired looking according to my physio therapist. She recommended I make a follow up appointment with my GP and get a referral to some specialists to see what is going on.
This past Saturday I brought out a bag of garbage and when I came back inside I couldn't stop coughing. It was cold outside. I coughed up so much stuff from my lung and I was coughing so hard I made my nose bleed. My whites in my eyes were red. My face felt swollen and felt like pins and needles. My lungs felt like someone had ripped a layer off of them. It was really painful to cough. To be honest, I was scared to death. I was not only coughing up gunk from my lungs, I was coughing up fresh blood. The blood I assume was from my nose.
My eldest daughter, 19 years old, was extremely concerned and asked if she should call someone. I shook my head no. I didn't even tell her how scared I was. I was more concerned how she was because she is a very anxious and a worrier.
I wanted her to call the paramedics, but I didn't know how I was going to be treated or what would happen if they brought me to the hospital. The local hospital is the busiest in BC and it is lacking severely in doctors overnight in the ER. There is only one doctor in the trauma area overnight. No one gets seen in the minor treatment area until a doctor comes on after 7:00 am. I think the last shift ends at 11:00 pm. If there is time the trauma doctor comes over to help.
I took care of myself the best I could at the time and did tell the physio therapist when I saw her what happened. Tomorrow I have another x-ray to see the progress of my pneumonia. I'm going to make that appointment with my GP. I promise!
