Jim, it's true you do not attack personally - dead on - but you do imply, and only a brick wall would fail to understand what you mean. That's good in a way, but still hangs your discussion partner out to dry - very deftly. I think all this post moving and hand wringing annoyed me because I was enjoying the discussion, and it disrupted everything. It appeared your lady fans were trying to save you from . . . I dunno, Random Vioce and his logic, maybe. One more thread blown. Off to find some interesting communication. mostly true, but, i'm not responsible for what people think. a good example is, i went to school to be a lawyer, but never practiced professionally. i have however, handled a couple hundred legal cases for people. my letterhead had a gavel, which was a wordperfect graphic. when i would call, or tell someone that i was representing so and so, many of them chose to think that i was an attorney. never once did i ever tell anyone that i was an attorney, so i never made any false representations. it was not my fault that they chose to think that i was a lawyer. there are all kinds of occupations which "represent" people. that was ALWAYS on them, not me.

If you didn't disabuse them of that impression , then it was a false representation of a kind. Under English law, the only people entitled to "represent" a client in most types of court would be a lawyer.

Under English law, the only people entitled to "represent" a client in most types of court would be a lawyer. that is true here also. i could not stand up in court and talk. i was there to tell the people i was helping, almost entirely girls, what to say, and i did all the writing filing motions and so forth. i did have a stupid attorney in orange county family court try to get the judge to sanction me for practicing law without a license, but obviously, that couldn't happen since i was always at least an inch inside the line. as a rule, it's advantageous to allow fools to think whatever they wish. i was never under any obligation, legally or morally, to inform them that what they chose to think was in error
