I'm off to France tomorrow for a walking holiday. I've been feeling tired recently and when on Saturday I got so exhausted walking up a valley that I became unable to move, thought I'd better see the doctor. I was due to for a routine thyroid check but didn't think it was that; it turned out to be anaemia. I've got iron pills but they won't make me feel better for a week or two.
I'll take lots of books and hope for the best!

Today, I'll work on developing an advertising campaign -starting with actually making a link ad. Then Thursday I'll start work on the October edition of Bits & Pieces. I keep pretty busy for someone with no job! Well, I guess that's a good thing.
Summer has begun to wane here (northeast US). The first leaves are hitting the ground, and I have worn a sweater once (rats...you know the first time you need to do that, you figure you'll go right back to summer tomorrow but...once it starts..it continues. And in this neck of the woods that means we're done with our oh-too-short summer and heading into 7 or 8 months of going into winter/winter/and coming out of winter (so colder, cold, then muddy!) That's what we do here.
By the way, speaking of the magazine, anyone got any submissions? We need content!

Well...I set out mouse traps last night......all I did was feed them.....so I made them massively more sensitive.......they snapped about four times just trying to set them down....amazed I didn't lose any fingers!!!!! (I'm rather jumpy now) So I better have some deceased mice later!!! I would catch them and set them free.....but unfortunately they just come back........or send replacements....I'm not sure!!!
Cool weather again this week.....high of only 80 F.
Did anyone catch Dina Lohan's interview on Dr. Phil.....holy mackeral.....it appears Lindsay may be the more sane one......how scary is that!!

That's cool?!! wow. 'Cool' here means 65 degrees. If I'm walking I may not put a coat on until it drops below 62 or so. But we live in different climates I suppose. Put it this way, I'll be taking the air conditioner out of the window any day now, and storing it till next year. I'm not really using it any more now. *sad face* ( I hate to see summer end, it will be so long before we're warm again!

I'm amazed sadie. jacks usually have the killer instinct bred right into them. Nothing escapes Sissies attention, flies, spiders, and especially anything wearing a fur coat

Well.....Elvis is a rescue....he was pretty abused when we found him......has taken a lot of time to rehab him.....going on almost 4 years and he can still be pretty skittish some times........but he is so adorable........he does however have some serious amorous intentions towards our 100 plus pound dog, Zoe........that's how he got his name.....we said he was "a hunk, a hunk of burning love"

Went for a long walk with my oldest son, his dog, Abby, and our dog, Dexter. Dexter is actually one of her babies.....she is an akita.....he looks like a cross between akita and shepherd.....Went along a nature walk around the University here.....it's just short of 3 miles, so the dogs had a great time and were worn out by the end!!

Oh that sounds nice. Yea, I'm supposed to be walking daily myself, so I'm not just sitting at the computer all the time. I've always lived out in the country where walking is a great thing (the woods always have trails, always - you can get entirely away from civilization). Now though, I live in the city and walking here is..mm..I feel like a target -for the cars -for the bad guys -the beggars -germs - you name it. This is so just the opposite of what I seek when I go out to take a walk! A musician friend came over recently and we wrote a song about it. Had a few laughs. It's good for that! (oh, I see weird things).
However... right now the weather's splendid. I guess I'll go, and just just concentrate on it.

I used to like to ride bikes....tried riding to work but it was just too dangerous....we only have a couple of bike lanes.....and unfortunately they all lead to one of the city council's boyfriends house.......he's an avid bike rider.....and suddenly we got bike lanes....that seem to start at his house and to where he rides.......I wonder how that happened? ?

My walks now involve a mobility scooter aptly named Dobbin and Sissy my little dog.
Sissy sits and rides on the footplate while we are on the road, then dismounts and runs free when we reach a nature trail or park-lands and runs free.
Tail fiercely wagging as she spots newcomers, she quickly makes friends with all she meets, however she gets confused when what she thinks is an approaching dog, vanishes up a tree. Koalas are good at doing that.
I love our walks and so does Sissy. My best friend and I spend hours exploring together.
'Dobbin' believes it was a souped up 4 - wd in a former life and takes us places where we're not supposed to be able to go, but its stealth like capabilities allow us to watch nature unfold before us.
