One of my favorite fantasy movies is the film Krull, which i'd put in the same catagory with classics like "The Wizard of Oz"! The film has a certain purity about it and an enchantingly magical soundtrack! Children can watch too, but should be warned that the "Beast" is every bit as scary as the wicked witch of the west!
P.S. BTW Linda! I think "Culture Vulture" is a typically English English colloqualism, which could scare Americans away, who have a different feeling for and interpretation of this figure of speech!

Have you seen it? It's probably about the very best film there is for struggling adolescents.

I've seen Krull and Last of the Mohicans and enjoyed them both. Have not seen Little Miss Sunshine, yet, though I do have the DVD. Maybe I have the wrong idea about LMS - thought it was about a disfunctional family and a loud mouth kid on a motor trip. One of my favorites is "The Big Chill". Another is "Blow Dry" with Natasha Richardson and the lovely Alan Rickman.

Agreed, regarding The Dark Crystal, a little gem - and not just for children, btw. Willow - also a decent fantasy movie LOTR - the best

Can't remember what it's called, but a year or so ago I saw a hilarious comedy with a black FBI agent dresses up as a black woman and falls in love with a black girl who has a criminal boyfriend. The character he plays is called 'Big Momma' and I just laughed and laughed and laughed.

Agreed, regarding The Dark Crystal, a little gem - and not just for children, btw. Willow - also a decent fantasy movie LOTR - the best Oh, I agree, not just for kids, I used to pop the video in when I was about 18...and very, very stoned. I love the "Garthim" in that flick, I'd like a big regiment of 'em, fantastic creatures. Edit: Willow - Very enjoyable! Along the same lines as "Legend" & "The Time Bandits"...kids films with a nice salting of darkness here and there. AH
